CMSGA Logo Shirts

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We now have all of the shirts, except for two sizes, S and 3XL. We distributed a substantial number of the shirts on January 20th..  We will host another distribution event, likely on February 3rd.  The missing sizes are expected soon.

CMSGA Member Survey

Below you will find a link to the first survey I have ever created. The survey consists of 5 or 6 basic questions.

If for some reason the link or the survey doesn't work for you, it is probably something I did wrong, and not you.

Results - January 20, 2022 - Individual Net

Yesterday’s high temperature in Boston was 22 degrees.
In Costa Mesa it was 72, and many golfers were wearing short pants and short sleeve shirts. Yes, we had another beautiful, sunny day for golf.  Here are the summary results:

  • Flight A - First place goes to Gary Bennett with a nice net round of 67.  Second place is a tie between Pete De Boer and Mike Supple, just one stroke behind the leader.  Ed Chavez finished in 4th place and Dave Kent took 5th.  Gary won two skins, and Ned Whitemore, Ed Chavez, Dave Kent, and Steve Hayes won one each.  ($20 per skin)

  • Flight B - First place goes to Arnie Aparicio with a net round of 67.  Second place is a tie between Tom Ebert and Bret Bauer, two strokes behind the leader.  4th place is a tie between Jim Thornton and Burnie Presho.  Jeff MacCarter won 2 skins, and Chris Aasland, Robert Ou, Rich Miller, Arnie Aparicio, Bret Bauer, and Winthorp Logemann won one each. ($15 per skin)

  • Flight C - First place goes to Joe Willis with a net round of 68.  Second place is Rich Clause, 3 strokes behind the leader.  There is a 3rd place tie between Russ Barrett and Brian Cwik, and in 5th place is Don Millikan.  Joe Willis, Jim Rossman, Don Millikan, Sharon Thiedemann, Mike Bekins, and yours truly won one skin each.  ($19 per skin)

We had a significant number of golfers withdraw from the tournament, most for health concerns.  We were notified in advance, and appreciate the early notification.  Thanks for keeping us updated, and for being considerate of your fellow golfers.  Despite the many changes this caused in tee times, everyone we expected on Thursday morning showed, and we were able to keep on schedule with tee times.  Thanks to all for your cooperation and understanding.  Best wishes….

This tournament was a bit of a headache, as we went from 88 to 72 players, mostly in the few days before the tournament.  Pairings adjustments are a part of every tournament, but this one was harder than most.  We can recognize our best gross scores of the day, coming from Pete deBoer and Dave Kent, both with a 72.  Much thanks to Abe for directing this one.

Our next tournament day, February 3rd, was full about 4 hours after the signup sheet opened yesterday.  We have started a waiting list.  If you want to play, let us know.  If we get enough players waiting, we may be able to get more time.  If you can't make it, please give us as much notice as possible.

Thanks, Bill Cloud

Last Event Summary - Jan 6th 2022 - Team Shamble

We had an interesting day of golf for the first tournament of the new year.  For the first couple of hours the fog was quite dense which made rangefinders useless.  We had to use GPS devices or old school yardage markers.  I am not so sure it affected the scores that much but just presented another challenge to overcome.

Two teams tied for lowest net.  With a net 116 (28 under par!) were the teams of Hall, Haraksin, Kim, Skirvin, and Arnold, Dague, Fisher, and Kennedy.  CTPs went to Fisher(2), Monk, Aasland, and de Boer.

If we were looking for low gross honors it would have gone to Mike Edles with a gross 73,  followed by 5 players with gross 74s.  Low net was shared by Clause, Bauer, and Kennedy with net 65s.

This is a non postable score so it will not show up on your previous scores for handicap purposes.  We only had one addition error for the group and only one player did not show to play.  PLEASE CALL.  It was good to see and welcome some new members to our group and I hope they had a good time.  The round was a bit longer than we would like, so again we need to work on speeding up play where we can.
