What is it?:
The Scotch Cup is an annual friendly competition between CMSGA and LagunaWoods Men's Golf Club. There is a trophy cup, which is currently in our possession and on display in the Costa Mesa Country Club display cabinet.
When is it?: The competition is held over two days, usually in July. Most recently:- Thursday July 16, 2026 at Costa Mesa
- Wednesday July 22, 2026 at Laguna Woods
Number of Golfers:Eighteen golfers from each club
Format: Nine two player teams for each clubA unique version of team match play. Teams are playing for various accomplishments on each hole for points (low net ball, low team net, proximity to hole, etc.). See below.
Cost:At each course, the green fee and cart fee. At Laguna Woods, add the cost for lunch ($74 total this year).
Who Can Participate?All current CMSGA members are eligible to participate. We are restricted by the format to a limit of 18 golfers.
How do I Sign-Up?We have drafted a team that we feel will be especially competitive, hoping to correct a string of several years coming up short. Contact us to be placed on the alternate list.
