February 16th Results

An error in Flight assignments has resulted in a correction from what was posted initially.

Flights were assigned by Course Handicap, not Handicap Index.  For this tournament, Flight 1 had course handicaps from +1 to 9, Flight 2 was 10 to 17, and Flight 3 was 18 to 38.  Sorry for the confusion.

Tournament Summary Results *Here*

We had a slight delay due to a frost alert.  The weather, although a little cool to start, really turned into a beautiful day to play golf.  Some very good scores were recorded, and the results in the three Stableford Flights are:

In Flight 1, Joe Kelly won with a total of 42 points, one point ahead of second place Mike McClanahan (41).  Third and fourth place went to Mike Edles and Jon Borchert.  Ed Chavez and Ned Whittemore tied for fifth.

Flight 2 had a first place tie between Bob Kirchgessner and Mark Spreeman with 43 points.  Rich Miller, King Wong and Steve Stranak  took third, fourth and fifth.

Our Flight 3 winner was Bob Baker with 47 points, best of the day!  Second was tied between Conrad Wilson and John Westermeyer with 46 points.  Joe Mohney and Shirley Skirvin placed fourth and fifth.

Skins were plentiful, with 6 skins in Flight 2 and 9 skins in Flight 3.  Jim Ortale and Conrad Wilson each pocketed multiple skins.

We had 87 players, out of 92 originally scheduled.  Eight President's Cup matches have now advanced to their flight semifinals.

Thank you to all for playing. Looking forward to seeing you at our next tournament on March 2nd.

  1. This is John Westermeyer. Donald Walls, Tony Baccaro, Doug Kramer and John Westermeyer would like to play as a foursome in the next tournament. Would it be possible to move the twosome that are paired with us to gather and make a foursome of us?
