It was a beautiful day! The skies were blue and the temperature warm for a great day of golf in SoCal.

For those of us not playing against Laguna Woods in our yearly Scotch Cup competition we still had a pretty good field of 58 players.

  • Low Gross honors today went to Peter Hagen with a 69
  • Low Net went to Jim Thornton with a 62
  • The team winners were Thornton, Plummer, Comogolio, and Bonnie witht a 2 best ball score of 127
  • There were a total of 26 skins across 4 flights with Conrad Wilson winning 3. Jim Meyer was the CTP player today getting 2 on holes 2 and 8
  • Scotch Cup team had better days but they're hanging in there... with a good showing next week at Laguna Woods they'll bring home the trophy. Good luck team!
Congratulations to all the winners!

Thanks to Ron Plummer the tournament director.

COMPLETE HOLE BY HOLE DATA

The 2025 President's Cup, our only match play event of the year, has completed.

Our 2025 President's Cup Champions are Mike Supple and Jim Meyer.  Mike won over Greg Prough, and Jim over Damien Wilkerson, in their respective flights.  Mike and Jim will be recognized in the CMSGA Hall of Champions.

Thanks to all of our member competitors for competing.  Matches and results may be viewed through the "brackets" link below.

Some corrections were needed to the initial results posting.  This version posted at 10:30 AM, June 20th is hopefully accurate.

The team of Andersen, Nevins, Johnson and Lencek won at 17 under par by a three stroke margin.

Individual gross leaders by flight include Jerry Vinland and Alex Cruz (tied at 72), Steve Stranak (78), Allen Sappenfield and Harlan Andersen (tied at 78) and Robert Ou (85).  Net leaders are Jerry Vinland (65), Burnie Presho (64), Allen Sappenfield and Harlan Andersen (64) and Robert Our (64).

Multiple skins winners were Chris Calkin (guest of Sean McGroarty), Peter Cary and Todd Schmeider.  Perhaps more significantly, Joe Mohney's solitary skin in Flight 4 captured all of the money pool for that flight.

Thanks to Bret Bauer for setting up and scoring this tournament.  There are a few extra wrinkles when splitting tees that create complications.  We have tried to have a few tournaments use the Mesa Linda blue tees each season for a bit of challenge.

Congratulations to all the winners!
