Our Second Thursday tournament felt like a summer round.  We had 89 players, a great turnout.  One scorecard was left in the tournament box for the Costa Mesa Golf Club instead of our senior slot.  We did retrieve it a couple of days late.  Thanks for your patience on results.

Two teams tied for first.  Both were threesomes, who tied at 18 under par using blind draws:  R Wilson / Etter / Hooton / (Rustrum blind) and Munroe /  Llanos / Bonnie / (Schmieder blind).  Individual low gross winners by flight were Alex Cruz (67), George Fisher (76), Dan Hudgins (81) and Joe Mohney (86).  Net winners by flight were Bill Walker (66), George Fisher (67), Dan Hudgins (69) and Robert Wilson (65).

28 skins were award.  Flights 1 and 4 only had 4 skins worth $22 each in their flight.  Flight 2 had 13 skins worth  much less.  George Fisher, Burnie Presho and Todd Schmieder each won a pair of skins.  Wayne Rowell won two CTP's.

Congrats to our winners.  Thanks to Dave Basile for organizing and scoring this tournament.  Thanks to our members for playing and no unexpected no shows.

We had 4 players that did not show today and as a result I took one of the threesomes and added them to the groups without a fourth.  By doing this I was able to only use one blind.  We need to come up with some meaningful penalty for no shows.

Beautiful day in SoCal and the first group was a little slow taking just under 4 hours, not their usual 3:30. But all groups finished in under 5 hours today which, for our group, is pretty good.

Congratulations go out to several players today starting with Mr. Cruz with an overall low gross of 68.  Mr. Barrett with an overall low net of 61, very impressive   Multiple skins, 24, across all four flights.  Four players had 2 skins each with one player, Mr. Nevins besting everyone with 3.  And the winning Team, by one stroke, were the team of Plummer, Munroe, O Neal, and Hinson.  Two of the members of that team, not me, had natural eagles on the same hole.

And for the match play semi-finals Mr. Supple and Mr. Wilkerson were victorious, congratulations to both.  See everyone in May and remember the start time on May 8th is 20 minutes earlier than normal.
