Not the easiest day to play, but we had 74 golfers take a chance. We found a window between storms, endured a bit of wind and got her done.
We had 68 players in the shamble. We usually pay the top 20% of the field in each category, but we expanded the payout to the top 33% in the absence of the individual competitions. The last payout tier was split between 5 teams, which expanded the winners list to the top 50%, but the payout amount was very diluted. Three second round President's Cup matches were completed, with results on the website.
The best team of soggy turf wind players were Joe Mohney and Don Spreeman (at 9 under par). Followed by a two way tie for second, a four way tie for fourth, a four way tie for eighth and a five way tie for twelfth. An very tight finish which included a wide mix of handicap indexes.
A new competition of team skins using the total net of both balls was also scored, with the hope that it might spread the wealth, but the shamble winners dominated the category, with a few exceptions. The team of Joe Willis and Pete deBoer garnered a pair of skins. Kent Pfeiffer threw a pair of darts to earn two CTP's.
Thanks to Peter Cary for setting up and scoring this tournament. Thanks to you members for keeping us informed and showing up. With weather on both ends of the tournament, this was a great turnout.
